When I was a kid, my entire family would get some hot chocolate, jump in the car, and my dad would drive us all around different neighborhoods so we could look at the Christmas lights. I don’t know if it was planned or not, but we always managed to make it a priority. I love Christmas lights. There is something so very magical about them.
Therefore, I’ve made it a priority to walk around London to see the lights and Christmas spirit. You really can’t go anywhere in the city centre without seeing something related to Christmas. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen at least 50 Christmas trees just from the few times I’ve gone into the city during December.
Some of the best places in London to go for loads of Christmas spirit are below:
- Covent Garden
- Somerset House
- Regent Street
- Bond Street
- Oxford Street, specifically Selfridges
- Hyde Park – Winter Wonderland
- Sky Garden
- Leadenhall Building
- The Shard
- Borough Market
Luckily for me, I’ve seen a lot of these places decked out with Christmas lights. So I’ve decided to give you an idea of what it looks like with some pictures. Now, these were taken with an iPhone 6s and we all know the older iPhones aren’t the best with city lights, so please excuse the quality of these photos. Regardless, if you have the opportunity, you should go see it for yourself anyway.
Any other places I may have missed? Would love to get some more ideas so that I can go visit next year!
