New Year’s Resolutions are about starting the new year off trying to better yourself in some way or another. Some people may find this cheesy or annoying, but I’ve always found it inspiring.
That is, if you actually try and follow it. How many people make a resolution they don’t actually see through? So if you’re serious about bettering yourself and working on certain things you know you need to improve, then this is a great time to do just that. And realistically, you can make efforts to improve yourself at any time or anywhere. It all begins and ends with you.
In 2017, I made three resolutions to myself…..
- The first was to launch a blog and keep up with it. Ok check.
- The second was to move to the UK. Check Check.
- The third was to do what I had to do to make myself happy. Check Check Check.
I have come a very long way this year.
And for 2018, I have even more resolutions, with the main one being getting in shape and focusing on my wellbeing. Kayla Itsines is starting a 12 Week Challenge with her BBG program on January 15th and I 100% plan on doing that. I even have a few girlfriends of mine who are planning on doing the program as well.
I also want to focus on becoming a better blogger. 2018 will be the year I devote a lot of time, effort, and research into this blog to improve it further.
This year, I want to become a better photographer. I just recently bought myself a Nikon DSLR so that I can shoot much better photos for the blog. I can’t wait to practice more and learn about photography.
I want to practice yoga more. In the past, it has really helped with my stress and anger issues. And not only that, but I love the different poses you can do and would really love to take progress pictures to see how far I come.
The least fun of them all is that I want to learn how to better manage my finances – something I have always been horrible at. However, I do think it could help us both save for a few long weekend holidays over the course of the year.
And lastly, I really want to spend the year working on my patience and being kinder to others. I need to learn to control my anger as well, and I’m hoping yoga and a healthy mindset can help with that.
I expect this year to be amazing because I plan to make it so. And that’s it. We all have the power to choose how this year will unfold because we all have the power to choose our mindset. And quite honestly, that means a hell of a lot. So let 2018 bring you joy. Ring in the New Year with the hope that you will be a much better person in exactly a year from now.
And with that being said, I wish you all pure happiness, fun, and good fortune in the New Year!
Happy New Year!
