I’ve always liked to dress stylish. I was always shopping at the popular stores and loved getting new outfits. But I never considered myself obsessed with fashion. I liked it as much as the next girl but could never see myself in a fashion career. And to this day, I’m still relatively the same. Although I have calmed down quite a bit on the shopping (but that probably has more to do with the lack of money than anything else). 😀
This is my first Outfit of the Day blog post on Knackered by Chaos. As I don’t want to mainly be a fashion blogger, I still think fashion and style is an important part of a person’s identity, which really does deserve a spot on my lifestyle blog. So don’t expect these too often, but I would like to include my style and certain pieces I’m dying over more often on the blog in 2018.
It’s Casual Friday today so I threw on a pair of black jeans that I haven’t worn yet and a white t-shirt with a green button up blouse over it. I love my brown Oxford shoes and get really excited to wear them any chance I get. I’ve been carrying my brown suede bucket bag around with me this week and was lucky enough that the shoes match these perfectly.
Trust me, I did not put in much effort as far as my outfit went this morning. There was a lot of luck involved. And it’s relatively simple, casual, and relaxed. Which honestly describes my wardrobe to a T.
Also, please excuse the obvious awkwardness of these photos. It’s my first outfit post so it may take me a little while to get used to posing for the camera. Come on, even models weren’t perfect when they first started!
I call this pose the “oh look! the ground!”
For those of you in the UK, I have to apologise as most of the items I am wearing are from US retailers. Although, they all ship to the UK, so it’s not completely impossible to get similar items.
My black jeans are from American Eagle Outfitters. I LOVE their jeans. They’re usually very comfortable, stylish, and fit well.
My white t-shirt that is actually not shown is from Madewell. It’s just a v-neck, nothing special. And probably overpriced for a t-shirt. But it’s good quality. I love Madewell.
My green blouse is from Express. Which is another of my favourite stores from the States. I used to get a lot of my work clothes here. I feel that their clothes always fit true to size which is great because then I don’t have to try everything on and it makes it much easier to shop online.
My suede bucket bag is from New Look, which is actually in the UK, so HAAAAYY! I wrote about it in my December Favourites post. I do like it but there are no pockets so it’s not a great bag to have at all times. More of an in the moment type bag or if you only want to carry a few things. It’s really cute and stylish though. I mean, look!
My shoes are from Target. Which is very well known in the US. You can’t walk into a Target and not spend hundreds of dollars. It just doesn’t happen. I wish they had Targets in the UK. People would love it here. I bought them a couple years ago so they wouldn’t sell them anymore, but I’m sure you could find similar shoes anywhere.
