As some of you may know, I have struggled with acne basically since I was 13. But for the last 3-4 years, it has strictly been related to my hormones. And hormonal acne is ridiculously hard to control. Most women resort to changing their form of birth control to help regulate it. As I had opted for an IUD about 2.5 years ago and I really liked everything else about it, I didn’t want to change it. Therefore, I had to figure out another way to control my hormonal acne.
After doing many topical creams, salicylic acid, different face washes, and tea tree oil, I got to a place where it was a bit manageable. Although, I was still having breakouts and had no way of preventing them. And it was especially bad as it was cystic acne which is incredibly painful and takes ages to go away – I’m talking weeks.
I did some research and came upon Hum Nutrition. Now, my main focus was definitely acne control, but I also wanted to try different supplements to see if they could help me in other health aspects as well. When you sign up, you’re asked to take a quiz. Then, they assign a nutritionist to review your answers to the quiz and then suggest certain supplements they think would help based upon your results.
Initially, I was told to begin with the below supplements:
And so I did. I bought all of them and tried them out. And they worked. My acne got much better from the Daily Cleanse, my hair and nails got stronger from the Runway Ready pack, and I did feel an increase of energy from the Uber Energy pills.
Since then, I’ve tried many of their products including:
I’ve linked all products to where they live on the site where you can read about each individual supplement and the benefits they can provide, backed with scientific research.
Make sure you always read up on the products you’re ingesting before you buy! I can’t stress that enough.
As I don’t want to be taking a massive amount of different types of supplements, I have now prioritised what I want out of my pills and only take 3 from Hum now.
The very first Hum Nutrition supplement I take is Base Control which essentially is a multivitamin. It has Vitamins A, B, C, D3, and E as well as Calcium, Iron, Iodine, Zinc, and Manganese to just name a few. There are 22 essential nutrients total included in this tablet that only needs to be taken once a day with food. It’s only $10 and a really great multivitamin. As it’s just not possible for me to get all of my vitamins and nutrients from food daily, taking a multivitamin is a perfect way to still be good to my body.
The next one – and my second favourite – is the Uber Energy capsule. The main benefit of this supplement is to help support consistent energy throughout the day through adrenal strength. The ingredients range from Rhodiola Rosea to Ginger Root Extract and Astragalus Root. I’ll assume most of you won’t know exactly why these are important so I’ll give you some examples. Rhodiola Rosea has been scientifically proven to help prevent fatigue and keeps stress levels low. It has actually been used to help those with anxiety disorders. Ginger root extract has been proven to help aid digestion which therefore will make sure you get the full benefits of the food you eat daily. Astragalus Root has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for hundreds of years. It has been suggested that it may help decrease the length of colds.
And my absolute favourite supplement from Hum is the Daily Cleanse pill. It is meant to cleanse your skin, liver, kidney, bowels, and lungs. It has loads of superfoods like Chlorella and Spirulina to help detox the skin. It also has Red Clover which has been proven to help menopausal women as well as purify the blood and cleanse the body. Daily Cleanse also has Milk Thistle, a powerful antioxidant, and Bladderwrack which can improve skin’s elasticity. Needless to say, it’s no surprise this pill has done wonders for my skin.
Ever since I started taking the Daily Cleanse, I’ve gotten compliments telling me my skin was glowing. And that is something I never thought I would hear until I was pregnant. I do a lot of face masks, glycolic peels, oils, and other skincare treatments to my face to take care of it, but I really do owe a lot of my success to the Daily Cleanse pill as accidentally skipping a day or two can cause a breakout. It’s safe to say that I have finally found a treatment plan that works for my skin now.
As far as the Uber Energy and Base Control goes, I do love them. It’s important to have a multivitamin from a brand you can trust. I have been taking Uber Energy for a long time now and I do notice how effective it is especially when I started working out. I think the combination of the two have helped improve my energy levels immensely.
Now some of you may ask why did I choose Hum Nutrition or why I am devoting an entire post to tell you guys about these supplements? Do you work for them? Like what’s your deal lady?
When I initially started learning about Hum, I actually thought it might be too good to be true. They had colourful and pretty looking bottles that suggested great beauty benefits and quite honestly, that is what drew me in. But since then, I have learned to truly love and trust their brand. They do a lot of good work and have started producing so many more products in the last year that I believe they will only continue to grow.
I do not work for them and this is in no way a paid advertisement. However, if they did want to join forces, I would never say no as I am a true lover of their brand and products. Regardless, I’ll continue to purchase their products and will never not take the Daily Cleanse pill as it has been a lifesaver for me.
What I love the most is the fact that they have free personal nutritionists that they assign to you when you sign up and take the quiz. You are allowed to email with your nutritonist and ask them questions. They have done loads of research and have included the science behind all of their ingredients in each capsule located on their page so you know 100% what it is you’re putting into your body. Their products are all non-GMO, gluten free, natural, and it’s all sustainably sourced.
Their tagline is that “beauty starts from within” and considering everything I’ve been through on my acne journey, I couldn’t agree more. Since I have been taking these tablets, drinking loads of water, and eating healthy foods, my skin has cleared up immensely. Just add exercise and a good night’s sleep to that, and my body has felt better than ever before. It really is so important what you put into your body which is why I love Hum so much as we share the same beliefs.
Now, as I have taken the Daily Cleanse pill while eating whatever I want and not exercising, I can tell you that it still does help a lot. But I didn’t receive the amazing results until I put it all together. I believe this would be true for all of these products, which is why they’re called supplements. They’re supposed to supplement a healthy lifestyle to achieve great results. They are not a medicinal cure so that is extremely important to keep in mind.
For any of you who are interested in these products, I would tell you to go to Hum’s website, sign up, take the quiz, and wait for your results from your personal nutritionist. If you are currently taking any medications, or have any health concerns, please make sure to speak to your doctor first. I am in no way advising you to start taking supplements without confirming with your doctor first.
